Bmw considering to build a Mini cross-over

Over the past year rumors about the new Mini-based cross-over circulated. Its been told that the design process of the new 4WD Mini had already started. Sources are telling that the new model will be based on the R55 chassis. It will be both larger and have more doors, and also different from the Clubman chassis.
At the interior this new 4WD vehicle is expected to have a different and updated style, but of course repecting the Mini line.

While Mini is still planning its new model ,Bmw is looking at production locations outside the Oxford plant possibly Spartanburg South Carolina or even the latest Bmw plant in India. One thing is certain: the Oxford plant will not have the capacity to build another model after the production of the Mini Convertible will start in 2008.The new Mini 4WD is programmed for release in 2010.
